My Free Excel Based Budgeting Worksheet:
The first thing I would like to do is introduce you to my Household Budgeting Spreadsheet I created for Microsoft Excel. Long time readers will find this worksheet as easy to use as my popular debt snowball and checkbook registry spreadsheets.
To download my totally cool (and easy) budgeting spreadsheet simply click here or click on the screen shot of the program below!
When prompted, select “Save” and choose a location on your computer to store the program. Once the file has downloaded to your computer, minimize your web browser and open up the file. If you’ve done this correctly, you should see the screenshot below on your desktop!
The budget worksheet may seem a little intimidating at first but don’t worry, everything will come together for you over the next few posts! Today’s homework is simply to familiarize yourself with the form. Plug some numbers into the boxes and see what happens!

It would be helpful if your sheet was not protected. I would like to write notes on the side about certain items.
Thanks so much for this spreadsheet! I actually saw it when it was originally posted, and now came back for it. Just to make it easier on others looking, you might want to add it to your downloads section.
