On the subject of contentment of the oil from the beaches. Install some type of perforated tubing that is can float at the top of the water that allow that oil to collect. This tuble or lines are connected to solid tubes lines that run from the water to land . Where is a contentment area where the oil can be transporting by trucks away from the beaches. The perforated pipe and the solid pipe can be held up by some floatation device.

I’m an 82 year old, semi-retired farmer, lived in NW Iowa my entire life. I really had no idea about how the deepwater wells were drilled. After the Gulf explosion I started looking on the Internet for articles and I must say your article does explain the process better than any others I had found. It sure looks like plenty of mistakes were made long before things blew and stopping the oil in the near future does not look promising. Is this the first well in this gulf reservoir? Is the amount of pressure coming from the hole more or less standard or greatly more PSI? They talk about cement, is this anything like concrete that is used for roads and buildings?
